Summary
OpenAI and Tokyo AI host an afternoon-to-evening hackathon and workshop for developers who want to rapidly prototype AI-native applications using OpenAI tools, APIs, agents, and Codex. Participants build in teams of two to four across two open tracks: B2B solutions (documentation workflows, legacy integration, internal copilots, compliance) and consumer or creative use cases. OpenAI engineers Tyler Ryu and Kaz Sera provide live demos, technical guidance, and hands-on implementation help throughout the roughly 150 minutes of build time. The session runs from introductions through collaborative prototyping, project showcases, and an awards segment with food. Projects are judged on problem significance, creative use of OpenAI tools and Codex, demo quality, and future potential. All participants receive $250 in OpenAI API credits plus three months of ChatGPT Pro with Codex access, and track winners receive credit prizes up to $25,000. The event targets intermediate and advanced developers, startup builders, and technical creators, with selection based on background, diversity, and application timing. Teams form ahead of time through TAI's Discord. Supporters include Foundry Labs K.K. and the SoftBank-backed incubator DEEPCORE.
