Summary
SDGs to Startups Hackathon 2026 brings together university students from across Tokyo for a two-day build sprint focused on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Participants form teams on site, develop a working prototype with support from mentors, and pitch their ideas to a panel of judges. No team or prior idea is required, and students from all majors (tech, business, design, and beyond) are welcome.
The program is built around hands-on building and real-world impact. Industry professionals provide guidance throughout, and the top five teams earn a fast-track pitch to venture capital investors. Snacks and mentorship are included; participants are asked to bring a laptop and energy.
Held at Shibaura Institute of Technology and free for students, the event is co-organised by Tokyo Student Network, Tokyo AI, several GDGoC chapters (Waseda, IPUT, Sophia), and the TUJ CS Society.
