Summary
As AI advances and ways of working diversify, Japanese schools are being asked to shift from teaching set answers to helping students build their own paths. Schools cannot carry that alone, so the work increasingly involves companies, startups, local governments, regions, and working adults from many fields. This event is a talk session on what career education and the role of schools should look like next.
Speakers are Taisei Okauchi, head of Seifukan High School, which practices inquiry-based learning and career education; Keisuke Shinoda, co-founder of RePlayce Inc., which runs HR High School; and Eiko Kuroda of Another works Inc. They cover the practical problems teachers face, recent examples of schools partnering with companies, local governments, and their communities, and the role outside or parallel-career professionals can play in education.
The second half is given over to networking among a deliberately mixed room: educators, companies, local-government staff, and students. The venue is the 2F STAGE at Tokyo Innovation Base in Marunouchi, running 19:00 to 20:30 with doors at 18:50. Admission is free.
About the community
Fukugyo Zemi is a recurring session series on parallel careers and the use of outside talent, pairing a talk from practitioners with time for attendees to meet one another. This is the third installment, and it turns to education. The room mixes teachers, education-administration and local-government staff, companies and startups interested in partnering with schools, people working on inquiry-based learning or entrepreneurship education, and students. Networking time is always part of the format, and attendance is free.
