Summary
A showcase in Tokyo of roughly three years of work by Japan Innovation Campus (JIC), which opened in Silicon Valley in November 2023. JIC was set up as part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Go Global support for Japanese startups and operates as a community and coworking space for startups expanding into the US.
The program covers METI's upcoming startup policy, a JIC activity report, and Tokyo's global startup initiatives presented by Vice Governor Manabu Miyasaka, followed by a panel of startups and their business partners, including SONIRE Therapeutics (medtech), Kailas Robotics (robotics) and bitBiome (biotech). Speakers share how they built networks in the US and formed partnerships with companies, universities and research institutions, including what did not work. The session closes with networking. Held at the 2F STAGE of Tokyo Innovation Base.
